San Antonio Mission Bike Tour - Frequently Asked questions
Q: Where does Mission Bike Tour start?
A: We will be meeting at Mission Road Mini-storage. The address is 3520 Mission Rd, San Antonio, TX 78210. There is plenty of parking across the street in the business center. Don't worry about the tow signs, Mission Bike Tours has permission from the owner to use their parking lot! Just make sure you get a parking pass from your guide and place it on your dashboard.
Q: How many people are required for a bike tour?
A: Mission Bike Tour requires a minimum of at least two people per tour. If you are an individual, we encourage you to sign up, but please know that we must have two people for the tour to take place!
Q: How many hours in advance should I make a reservation for a private tour?
A: Please request a private tour within 24 hours of your desired start date! This is so that we can coordinate with our guides to make sure that we can accommodate your tour! Our regularly scheduled tours can be reserved any time through our online scheduling program.
Q: I'm worried about keeping pace!
A: Don't worry! Our guides will bike at a pace that ensures our participants will be able to keep up. Remember, this tour is a leisurely way to explore San Antonio and also get exercise! We stop at multiple stops, and our number one responsibility is to make sure that you are having a good time!
Q: Do we stop along the way, or do we bike the whole time?
A: We stop at multiple places of historical significance, and we also make a few stops for traffic lights. We aren't training you for the Tour De France, but you will be getting exercise, and you will be learning a lot of new and interesting facts about San Antonio!
Q: Do we get to stop and explore the Missions!
A: We stop at Mission San Jose, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada! You will get between 15 and 25 minutes to explore each Mission! We will also provide rich and colorful content to help you understand the Mission system in San Antonio.
Q: What should I bring for the tour?
A: Bring some good shoes, cameras, water bottles, sunscreen, and clothes that protect you from the sun! We also encourage you to bring snacks!
Q: What do we do with our keys, wallets, and purses?
A: Your bikes will be equipped with baskets to help you store your personal items while you ride!
Q: I'm running late, what do I do?
A: If you call our guide ahead of time, we will wait ~10 minutes for you before we begin. Our guides will do their best to contact you, but if you show up 10 minutes after the trip time, we cannot guarantee that you will be a part of the tour.
Q: What if I need to cancel my trip, can I get a refund?
A: In order to qualify for a refund, you must make your cancellation at least 72 hours before your scheduled trip time. Refunds will not be given if you cancel within 72 hours of your trip.
Q: Are there bathrooms along the tour?
A: The mini-storage has clean bathrooms for you to use before and after the trip. There are also multiple bathroom areas along the tour!
Q: What if the weather conditions are not good?
A: We will try our best to accommodate your trip! We run in most weather conditions. If the weather is below 40 degrees, though, we will provide you with a "rain date" for your trip. If you cannot make the "rain date", we will give you a credit that is good for a full 12 months or full refund!
Q: Can we tip our tour guide?
A: Tips are are greatly appreciated! There is no better way to tell a guide that they did a good job than with a tip!
Q: Is there an age limit for the tour?
A: There is an age limit, our bikes are not suited for kids 12 and younger.
Q: Do you guys sell gift certificates?
A: Yes! We sell gift certificates for both our kayak and bike tours. Click on the link at the top of this site called Gift Card. Gift certificates are valid for one year after purchase, and refunds are given if you request one within one month of your purchase date.
